Meadowbank is designed to enable the service user to develop skills for community survival and progress towards a higher level of independence in preparation for discharge to supported or independent accommodation. Staff work in co-production with the service user to enable them to move forward in their recovery by taking increased responsibility for their own needs in areas of self-management work and leisure. Individuals are supported to establish roles and routines selected and valued by the them, promote positive expectations, support in making choices and taking risks, having realistic hopes for the future and building on their own successes.
Health Care Assistants support in the delivery of outstanding care, under the direction and delegation of qualified staff, including key responsibilities to support service users to participate in structured therapeutic recovery interventions, self-care, leisure and vocational activities on the unit and in the community, physical health observations, recording in patient record.
