The Manufacturing Manager for MEMS wafer Manufacturing is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the production processes in a wafer manufacturing facility running in 2 shifts for 5 days a week. This role requires a unique blend of exceptional people management, data analysis, and implementation skills while being open to changes and improvements. The Production Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality semiconductor products. As a manufacturing manager, you will interact frequently with the process development and integration, Supply Chain Manager, Project Leaders, Process Engineering, and Maintenance engineering to meet short and long-term delivery commitments.

You are responsible for

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production personnel with 4 direct and 20 indirect reports.
  • Recruit, train, and grow people to grow the organization fitting to the strategy of the company.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team and beyond.

Production Planning and Scheduling:

  • Be open to next-gen planning systems with AI/ML.
  • Support in developing and implementing production planning systems to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed to address changing priorities and resource constraints.
  • Manage WIP in the line with the line controller to foresee bottlenecks.

Unbeatable quality:

  • Collaborate with the Quality manager to maintain high product quality standards.
  • Implement quality control processes to minimize defects and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Lean business principles and implementation thereof:

  • Implement Lean principles in manufacturing by seeing the value flow visually (VSM) and the potential to improve.
  • Need to understand Kaizen culture and focus on the execution of Kaizen outcomes.
  • Lead the implementation of "SPQDIP" – lean visual management on the shop floor to drive improvements in Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with "SPQDIP" goals and objectives.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and analyze production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize production processes.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of the production department.
  • Focus on cycle time reduction, wafer moves, and WIP movement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement/Kaizens and cost reduction, and lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.

Innovation and new investments

  • Coordinate and support projects related to equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capacity expansion.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to maintain competitiveness by supporting the implementation of a predictive data-driven organization.

Safety, Compliance, and Regulations:

  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

You are a part of

MEMS foundry operations team and are a member of operations management team. You will be working closely with the Process development and Integration team as they are one of your customers.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes.
  • Proven lean management with regular Gemba walks and implementation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a track record of effectively managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the usage of data analytics, statistical tools, and manufacturing software.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
